Overview
The AICTE Saksham Scholarship supports specially-abled (differently-abled) students who want to study technical courses. It is run by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a central government body, so that a disability is never a barrier to a diploma or degree in engineering and technology.
If you are selected, you get ₹50,000 per year. This is a lump-sum amount for your college fees, a computer, books, stationery, software and other study costs, paid directly to your bank account (DBT) once a year.
To be eligible, you must have a disability of at least 40% and be admitted to the first year of a degree course, or the second year through lateral entry, in an AICTE-approved institution. Your family income must not be more than ₹8 lakh per year. Unlike some schemes, there is no fixed number of seats — every eligible student who applies and is verified gets the scholarship.
You apply online on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), and your college and state office verify your application. The scholarship can be renewed each year if you are promoted to the next class. For the 2026-27 year, the last date to apply is 31 October 2026 — always confirm on the official notification before applying.
