Overview
The AICTE Sarswati Scholarship is a scholarship from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for girl students in India. Its aim is "Empowering Women through Technical Education."
It supports girls who have just joined the first year of a BBA, BCA or BMS degree at an AICTE-approved institution.
What you get: ₹25,000 per year for every year of study, up to a maximum of 3 years. The money can be used for college fees, a computer, books, stationery, equipment or software. It is paid once a year straight into your bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Who can apply:
- Girl students admitted to the first year of a BBA, BCA or BMS degree course.
- A maximum of two girl children per family can apply.
- Your family income from all sources must not be more than ₹8 lakh per year. You must attach a valid income certificate from the State/UT government.
- An Aadhaar number is compulsory.
A total of 3,110 scholarships are given each year, shared out state-wise. Selection is purely on merit — your percentage of marks in the Class 12 (10+2) exam.
How to apply: Apply online on the AICTE Sarswati Scholarship Portal or the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Your college verifies your application, then AICTE checks it. The scholarship can be renewed each year if you pass to the next class.

How you're selected
Selection is solely on merit — percentage of marks in the 10+2 (Class 12) qualifying examination. A State/UT-wise merit list is prepared as per the number of scholarships allotted to each State/UT. Ties are broken first by Class 10 percentage, then by elder age.
