Overview
The AICTE Swanath Scholarship supports students who have lost the people who would normally pay for their education. It is run by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a central government body, for students studying technical (engineering/technology) courses.
You can apply if you are an orphan, or your parent(s) died due to Covid-19, or you are the ward of an Armed Forces / paramilitary member martyred in action (Shaheed), or your parent has a critical illness / died / is severely disabled in an accident. Your family income must be up to ₹8 lakh per year, you must be currently studying in an AICTE-approved degree or diploma course, and you must not be getting any other government or AICTE scholarship. Aadhaar is mandatory to apply.
If selected, you get ₹50,000 per year as a lump sum for your college fees, computer, books and other study costs, paid to your bank account (DBT). Up to 2,000 scholarships are given each year (1,000 for degree and 1,000 for diploma students).
You apply online on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP); your college and state office verify the application. It can be renewed each year if you pass. For 2026-27, the last date to apply is 31 October 2026 — always confirm on the official notification.

How you're selected
Merit of the qualifying examination (10+2 for degree, Class 10 for diploma). A maximum of 2,000 scholarships (1,000 degree + 1,000 diploma) are awarded each year.
