Overview
AICTE YASHASVI (Young Achievers' Scholarship and Holistic Academic Skills Venture Initiative) is a merit scholarship from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It rewards students who join the first year of an engineering course in one of five "core" branches — Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (together called CCEEM) — at an AICTE-approved institution. The scheme started in the 2024-25 academic year.
Every year 5,000 scholarships are given: 2,500 for degree (UG) students and 2,500 for diploma students, split state-wise. A degree student gets Rs. 18,000 per year for up to 4 years, and a diploma student gets Rs. 12,000 per year for up to 3 years. The money is paid straight to your bank account (DBT) once a year, and it is renewed each year if you pass and stay in a core branch.
Selection is purely on merit — your Class 12 marks for degree and Class 10 marks for diploma — and a separate merit list is made for each state, following that state's reservation policy. You apply online on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) when AICTE opens the window and posts a notice on its website. Your college verifies the form first, then your State Department of Technical Education checks it again.

How you're selected
Selection is purely on the merit of the qualifying examination — Class 12 marks for degree students and Class 10 marks for diploma students. A separate State/UT-wise merit list is prepared. The online application is verified first by the host institution and then by the State/UT Department of Technical Education (DTE). Ties are broken by higher qualifying-exam percentage, then by elder age.
