Overview
The ICAR Post Graduate Scholarship (PGS) is a merit-based scholarship from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), under the Department of Agriculture Research and Education (DARE). It supports students doing a master's (post-graduate) degree in agriculture and allied sciences at Agricultural Universities in the ICAR–AU system.
You do not apply for this scholarship separately. It is given automatically to students admitted through the All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) on ICAR's All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Students admitted only through a State Agricultural University's own entrance test are not eligible.
About 600 scholarships are given each year, purely on entrance-exam merit. The award is ₹12,640 per month, plus a yearly contingency grant of ₹6,000, paid for the full duration of the PG degree. To keep the scholarship, you must maintain good conduct and minimum marks: 60% or 6.60/10 OGPA for General/OBC and Under Privileged States (UPS) students; 55% or 5.5/10 OGPA for SC/ST and Physically Challenged students.
