Overview
Ishan Uday is a special scholarship from the University Grants Commission (UGC) for students from the North Eastern Region (NER). It helps students from the eight NER states pay for their college education.
If you are selected, you get ₹80,000 per year for the length of your degree — the scheme runs for 3 to 5 years depending on your course. 10,000 scholarships are given every year.
To apply you must have passed Class XII from a school located in the North Eastern Region through a recognised board, and you must already be admitted to the first year of an undergraduate degree in regular, full-time mode. Your parents' income must be below ₹4.50 lakh per year. If you are in an integrated or dual-degree course, the money is paid for the UG part only.
