Overview
The UP Post-Matric (Class 11, 12 and above) Scholarship is run by the Samaj Kalyan Vibhag (Social Welfare Department), Government of Uttar Pradesh, through the state's Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Online System. This page covers the scheme for Other Backward Classes students.
It supports students of Uttar Pradesh studying in Class 11, Class 12 and higher courses, helping with scholarship and fee reimbursement so that money is not the reason a student drops out. Applications for OBC students are handled by the District Backward Class Welfare Officer at district level.
Before you apply, two things are compulsory. First, One Time Registration (OTR) — the UP portal has made OTR mandatory from the 2025-26 session, so every student must complete OTR before filling the scholarship form. Second, Aadhaar seeding in your bank account — if your account is not Aadhaar-seeded, the scholarship cannot reach you. You can check your Aadhaar seeding status on the portal.
You apply online at scholarship.up.gov.in, using the Fresh login if this is your first application or the Renewal login if you received it last year. Your school or college verifies your form, then the district welfare office processes it.

How you're selected
You register and apply online on the UP Scholarship Portal. Your institution verifies the application, and the District Backward Class Welfare Officer at district level processes and sanctions it. Money is paid into your Aadhaar-seeded bank account. Fresh and renewal applications are submitted through separate logins.
